Psychological First Aid Services Continue in the Field

GCMHP continues to provide psychological first aid services to displaced persons through field teams deployed in displacement camps, as part of its ongoing efforts to support affected families across the Gaza Strip.

This service serves as an immediate humanitarian response aimed at providing practical and humane psychological support to those affected by crises. It focuses on fostering a sense of safety, calming individuals, listening to them, and connecting them with available services—all while ensuring no further harm is caused.

The field teams strive to help displaced families alleviate stress and anxiety and to bolster family and social cohesion. They also aim to empower individuals to regain a sense of control and the ability to make decisions amidst difficult circumstances.

Furthermore, these interventions prioritize the early identification of cases requiring specialized psychological support. Such cases are referred to GCMHP’s centers for care by specialized teams, utilizing comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each individual's needs to ensure continuity of support and optimal therapeutic outcomes.
