A delegation from Trocaire
Organisation of Ireland, presided by Mr Eoin Hamill, Programme Manager, has visited Gaza Community Mental Health
Programme to assess and review the results of their mutual work over the past 6
years and discuss their future agenda.
The delegation, also included Ms Reema
Ibraheem Programme Manager, and Roberta
Cappieri, Trócaire GBV Advisor.
On the first day, Tuesday, October 25, 2022,
the delegation met with Dr Yasser Abu Jamei, Director General of GCMHP and a
number of directors of departments and heads of units, to discuss the situation
in the Gaza Strip and its impact on the services provided, in addition to
reviewing the achievements, challenges and lessons learned during the Partnership
between the two organizations in the
past six years.
Mr. Hamel also presented the Trocaire’s
Strategy and Objectives for the next five years 2023 - 2027, while Dr Abu Jamei
reviewed the vision and objectives of GCMHP’s for the coming years.
On the second day, October 26,
2022, the delegation met with a group of program managers and representatives from
each of the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, and Women's Affairs Center. The
meeting focused on discussing the mechanisms for developing coordination and
partnership, especially in referrals, lobbying and advocacy activities, as well
as capacity building.
Ms Rima Ibrahim also gave a
presentation on context analysis, which was prepared by Trocaire.
At the end of the meeting, Mr
Owen thanked GCMHP and the partners for their efforts and rich contributions over
the years of partnership, and then the delegation was taken on a field tour
