GCMHP deployed its Psychological First Aid (PFA) field teams to provide essential support and awareness services of protection and safety measures for displaced families returning to Gaza City and northern areas.
The field teams operated at Netsarim Area, a key crossing point for families traveling by vehicle, wheremanydisplacedindividualsreturnedonfoot.GCMHPteamsassistedfamilieswhohad been waiting at Netsarim for over 30 hours, enduring extreme discomfort and exhaustion while stayinginvehiclesoralongtheroadsidewithoutaccesstoadequatesleepingareas,restrooms, or food and water.
Theteamsprovidedpsychologicalfirstaid,distributedawarenessleaflets,andsharedGCMHP’s toll-free contact number. They also assisted injured individuals to navigate rough areas and supported those showing signs of collapse or severe fatigue. Protection and safety needs of returningfamilieswerecarefullymonitored,andGCMHPteamscoordinatedwithPalestinianRed Crescent medical staff stationed along Al-Rashid Street and at Netsarim Junction to enhance support for all returnees.
