“GCMHP Conducted Multiple Psychosocial Support Sessions for Displaced Children, Women, and Men in Khan Younis Camps”

GCMHPconductedseveralpsychosocialsupportsessionsfordisplacedindividualsofdifferent age groups—children, women, and men—in the displacement camps of Khan Younis. The sessions focused on the concept of mental health as a core component of personal strength and the ability to cope with life’s pressures.

The sessions opened discussions about the daily stresses faced by displaced people under difficult conditions, followed by explanations of warning signs of psychological issues, such as loss of appetite or sleep, excessive irritability, persistent frustration, or social withdrawal. Participantswereremindedthatnoticingthesesignsisthefirststeptowardearlyprevention and intervention.


GCMHP also introduced its services, explaining how participants could access free psychosocial consultations vi a the hotline1800222333, emphasizing that seeking help is a sign of courage and responsibility toward oneself and one’s family.

Interactive activities were incorporated, including free drawing to express emotions, a “Feelings Cards” game, simple deep-breathing exercises, and group games to foster collaboration and mutual support among displaced individuals. Participants actively engaged, asking practical questions about coping with stress and managing emotions.
