“GCMHP conducted group counseling sessions for girls.”

GCMHP conducted group counseling sessions for girls as part of the project "Improving the Availability of Youth and their Caregivers to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Quality Services in Gaza Strip." This project was implemented in partnership with the Belgian Agency for International Cooperation - Enabel, and funded by the Belgian Government.

These sessions were conducted in response to the growing psychological needs arising from the difficult humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip. Targeting adolescents and young adults affected by the war, the sessions focused on helping them understand the psychological and emotional effects of ongoing trauma and stress.

The sessions covered a range of topics, including:

- Identifying feelings associated with fear, anxiety, and sadness, and healthy ways to express them.

- Enhancing positive coping skills.

- Building social support and developing strategies to help participants cope with stress and trauma in safe and effective ways.

The sessions also provided a safe space for participants to share experiences and insights, contributing to reducing psychological stress and fostering a sense of security and belonging.

Through these activities, GCMHP reaffirms its commitment to continuing to provide high-quality mental health and psychosocial support services that meet the needs of the most vulnerable groups and contribute to strengthening the psychological resilience of youth and caregivers in the Gaza Strip.
