“Entitled "Stages of Loss and Self-Care", GCMHP conducted an awareness session for women in Gaza City”

GCMHP, in partnership with the Welfare Association, conducted an awareness session for women entitled "Stages of Loss and Self-Care." The session was attended by 24 women who are caregivers for orphaned children in the Al-Jalaa neighborhood of Gaza City.

The session began with an introduction to GCMHP, its role in supporting community mental health, and the services it provides, emphasizing the free psychological counseling hotline and how to access it.

The session included a discussion of the stages of loss, focusing on the anger stage and the normal and abnormal emotions that may accompany it, particularly guilt, and when it is necessary to seek specialized psychological help. The session was designed to create a safe and supportive space where women could freely express their feelings and experiences related to loss. The women actively participated and shared their personal stories, fostering a sense of security and mutual support. Other women expressed their desire to visit the program's headquarters after understanding the indicators of abnormal emotions and realizing their need for specialized psychological help.

At the end of the session, a practical relaxation exercise was conducted with the women to promote self-care and alleviate stress and psychological pressure. The exercise was met with a positive response from the women.
