GCMHP conducted group counseling and psychosocial support sessions for girls and boys affected by the war. The sessions were conducted in separate groups for girls and boys, respecting privacy and social and cultural considerations, and providing a safe and comfortable environment that allowed participants to freely express their feelings and needs.
The sessions aimed to promote mental health and help participants understand the psychological and emotional effects of exposure to trauma and ongoing stress, as well as develop positive coping skills and psychological resilience in the face of challenges.
The sessions included interactive activities that helped participants identify and express their feelings in healthy and safe ways, enhance self-confidence and positive thinking, and discover their personal strengths and abilities, thus supporting self-esteem and the ability to cope with daily stressors.
The sessions also provided a supportive space for interaction, exchange of experiences, and building positive relationships based on support, acceptance, and belonging.
